What I Eat In A Day | 3,300 Calories | Banana Island

source: http://www.buyspirulinaalgae.com

Today I decided to attempt “Banana Island”. In total I consumed 31 bananas, a tsp of chia seeds, a tsp of spirulina and a cup of almond milk. While I wouldn’t recommended eating this way long term, in my opinion it’s perfectly healthy and safe to do so for a week or two. Obviously it’s important to eat a variety of plant foods to ensure you’re meeting your nutritional needs, but I don’t believe we need variety in every single meal.

Combining several ingredients in one meal actually inhibits digestion and can cause gas and bloating. Eating mono meals simplifies the digestive process and leaves you feeling lighter and more energised. It’s also ideal for the absorption and assimilation of nutrients. Mono meals can assist in overcoming food addiction, which comes from sampling a variety of tastes. When you simplify your meals, eating becomes less stimulating on the senses and food can be viewed as what it’s intended to be – fuel for your body.

Throughout the day I felt energised, had consistently positive moods and felt satiated without being overly full. I really enjoy the lack of food preparation involved in this way of eating, as it makes life easier when I’m on the move. Around dinner time I was beginning to crave some cooked starches, but I’m sure if I stuck on banana island for a few more days these cravings would subside. Breaking a lifelong habit of eating cooked food 3 times a day is not something that comes easily, especially when Jade is eating pizza and garlic bread next to me.

Hope you enjoy the video,
Have a lovely day :)
